You know those days during summer when you have absolutely NOTHING to do? Well, this was my type of day this March 28 of 2010. I was stuck here inside my house lying down and without anything to do. Mom was using the PC all day, Gab - the ps3, dad - the DVD player. I tried watching TV but after UFC 111, (Go George St.Pierre! :D. Haha.) there was nothing good to see. I’ve already watched this crap about 2012 and Hitler. My PSP happened to be with Nicole ‘cause she borrowed it. Both guitars I owned were broken. This day was shaping up to be a very, very boring one.
But I felt the urge not to give in to the wrath of Boredom, so I decided to spend my day like how Phineas and Ferb does. Do something epic. No, I didn’t build a roller coaster or paint a continent. Instead, I biked. Sounds weak, eh? I biked the whole distance from my house (Parkview Homes, Sun Valley) to Jed’s house. That’s pretty small if you compare it to Phineas and Ferb’s activities, but then again, they are CARTOONS. LOL. Anyway, I spent the whole day there doing pointless stuff, like biking with no hands, or almost become dog food, or watch Hitler parodies, or just plain house-hopping. All because mom didn’t make me log onto Tumblr. :))

You've changed, Spongebob..
Dear Spongebob,
Hey, how are you, buddy? It’s been a long time since I last wrote to you.. That was when I was begging you to make even just one movie. Thankfully, I got my wish. I liked your movie so much. I watched it over and over again till I memorized your lines. And, I watched it MONTHS before it was shown here in the Philippines. (My tito gave me a pirated copy >:] )
There’s no doubt that I was a very loyal Spongebob fan back then. I loved everything about you: your not-just-for-kids humor, your sarcasm, the way you constantly violate nature’s laws, your unintentional cuteness, and a lot more. You were my favorite cartoon.
But this is where my letter would get a bit sour. Everything I mentioned above aren’t present anymore. (Except for the violating nature blah blah) Starting from Season 3, (I think?) you’ve changed. You’re voice sounds weirder than before. (Puberty?) Your best friend, Patrick grew a new tooth. Together with your shiny eyeballs, you desperately attempt to be ‘cute’ at times. Color-wise the show looks a lot better, feeling a bit modern. Your dialogue with other characters, dude, it sucks. You’ve suddenly expanded your vocabulary a lot. Most of your punch lines are pretty lame. (Although, there are a few I still laugh at) Sometimes, I just feel that you’re struggling to match the standards you’ve set in your glory days, which right now is going no where.
I’m not a hater. I hope you don’t consider me one. I’m just a fan asking for the old you. Seriously, right now the show feels like it’s waiting to be cancelled. So sorry, Spongebob, if I offended you. Just keepin’ it real.
Aren't the old ones cuter?
raffy :D
The Mist review
I can’t believe I just watched The Mist now. I’ve encountered it multiple times in the past but always ignored it for reasons I don’t remember. I know that this film is based on a novella by Stephen King, an award-winning horror writer. Keeping this in mind, the film is sure to be a hit. And it truly is. From start to finish, The Mist is consistently gonna bring you exciting thrills and heart-breaking twists.
The story tells the story of normal people stranded in a convenience store, where they’re safe from the perils of some breed of creatures from another dimension. Yup, this is a monster film. But what really stands out in this movie is not how they battle the insect-like creatures, but how they battle each other. Conflicts between the people inside the store really heightens the tension present in every scene. This is where Mrs. Carmody comes in. She’s some crazy ass middle aged woman who won’t stop preaching God’s words to the people. This is okay, I guess. But when you proclaim yourself as God’s Vessel then that’s just plain annoying. All throughout the film, I wanted to strangle her senselessly… Maybe I’m too violent, OR that’s how bitchy she really is. LOL. Anyway, it’s how the movie plays with your emotions that makes it great. Plus, the really wicked ending. So I really recommend you to watch this thing if you haven’t yet. If you have, better watch it again, for fun. Oh, and it's interesting to see what becomes of Mrs. Carmody in the end.
5 out of 5 Big Brother: Convenience Store edition.
Seriously, who wouldn't want to strangle this lunatic.

We're Next In Line
Yesterday I attended the seniors' graduation, which I was part of. The long ceremony started with a mass hosted by Fr.Mike, and another priest whom I've encountered before. (He was the priest when we heard mass last month during the BSP overnight camping activity.) That means I didn't react much when he finally talked. You see, he has a bit of an accent (which he says he got from Australia). That's subject to a lot of chuckles and people looking at their seatmates. Some seniors chuckled a bit, but in a while they were able to control their urge to laugh. (Thank god for SHS's teachings. LOL) Anyway, this mass continued for an hour or so. Then came the actual graduation program. They started giving away the diplomas, which took quite a while thanks to a certain someone who hogged up almost all the awards. (If ever you're reading this Guiller, congrats dude, you're my new idol na. You received more medals last night than I did my whole life. haha.) Then it was time for me to go on-stage for an award. This award for being a model student made my parents so proud, as this was my first time to go up on-stage to receive one of these. Then, after the giving of diplomas, awards, and a speech from some fashionista alumna of SHS, the Seniors gave us a rendition of the songs Next In Line, Wonderful Journey, and for the last time ever, the Sacred Heart School hymn. Of course, this was a very emotional moment for everyone, including me, because I know that we are the next batch of graduates. Next year, we're gonna be the ones singing the school hymn for the last time. So I said to myself that I should make the most out of school year 2010-2011. Better not waste time. :)
This is gonna be us next year.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves review
I've been waiting to play this game for a while now, because of all the hype around it, but I didn't have enough money to buy one. Luckily, Chester had just recently bought a copy. I waited about a week till he finished the game, then I borrowed it at once. I have played the first game and liked it a lot. I really thought its visuals and story were over the top. Saying this, I confidently state that this installment is 100 times better. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, everything looks so lively and real. From the lush jungles of Borneo, to the terrorized streets of fictional Nepal, to the blue, icy mountains of the Himalayas, this game makes you feel like you're in a living, breathing world. Also, something else about the graphics I should mention is the Focal and Motion blurs. The Focal blur works by focusing only on the object/character you're aiming at. (Everything else is blurred out) The motion blur is often considered as an annoying occurence, bur in video games this is one feature that makes a character's movements so realistic. Next, The controls feel right for the Dualshock controller. The slight delay when moving Nate perfectly coordinates with the looseness of the analog sticks. Next, The gameplay is better than ever with all the mechanics from the first game, added with additional moves, like shooting while hanging off a ledge, or run-and-gunning.. Also, more weapons have been added like a Tranquilizer gun, or Pistols that shoot Shotgun shells. Could you believe that?! Next, the game's rewarding system is pretty satisfying. Like the first game, Uncharted 2 has an in-game list of achievements that one can fullfill if he wants, asides the Trophy set included in the game. Each achievement you fulfill gives you a corresponding number of points, which can be then spent on unlockables such as weapons, concept art, videos, and tweaks. (My personal fave tweak is the One Shot Kill tweak. Hehe.) Out of all these features, one stands out the most, and that is its story. Uncharted 2's story is a well-written roller coaster ride, complete with incredible voice-acting and character development. The scenes from the game looks and feels like it was cut from an A-list movie. The main character, Nathan Drake, is the funniest and most human video game character ever. Even in times of peril, he still manages to squeeze in a tiny piece of humor. This is what makes Uncharted 2 not video game-ish. *SPOILER ALERT* There's one instance in the game where Nate is hanging for dear life on the edge of a cliff but he still manages to talk to himself "Sure, Nate, save the chick, be a hero", showing his regret. *SPOILER ENDS HERE* This 'talking while playing the actual game' removes the word cut scenes from Uncharted 2's vocabulary. Because the whole game is a cut scene. Characters often comment on what you do, even react when something happens in the environment. Now the voice acting is over with, I'm gonna tell you how great the story was. *SPOILER ALERT* The game narrates the adventures of Nathan Drake, a world-class treasure hunter, and his quest to stop a terrorist leader bent on world domination. The twist is, he has to acquire a special stone that turns someone immortal. (It's not a stone actually, you'll find out as you advance in the game) *SPOILER ENDS HERE* This may sound like 'just another treasure hunter saves the world' but believe me, it is more than that. So much more. And the way the game brings you to different parts of the globe makes it an even better experience. Now, its is time for complaints. Hmm, now that I mentioned that... I don't have much complaints for this game. Maybe the unrealistic jumping of Nate, or the unrealistic flashlight, but seriously these complaints are just for realism whores who are always mad at the whole world. I really can't think of any flaws right now. Maybe I'm gonna think of one (hopefully). Until then, I consider this game absolutely perfect. If you own a PS3 and don't have this game, buy UC2:Among Thieves now! If you're looking for a reason to buy a PS3, your search has ended.
MY SCORE: 5 out of 5 Game of the Decade!

A joke I came across today:
LMAO! Props to Pierre for this joke. :D
"A guy was setting up his new e-mail account when his girlfriend sat beside him. Feeling macho, he typed 'PENIS" as his password. The girlfriend fell off her chair laughing when the error message appeared: "Password not long enough" "
LMAO! Props to Pierre for this joke. :D
March Twenty-Tree :>
Today I woke up 11 in the morning. "It really is summer already" I thought to myself. Of course, like any other teen in the summer, the first thing I did was turn on the computer and go online on Facebook. Some 30 mins of surfing the net later, Steven suddenly showed up by the doorway of my room. I then remembered that the two of us were supposed to go to Multinational Village today. I rushed to the bathroom downstairs and took a bath. About ten minutes later I was ready to go. "Come on" I told Steven, who was staring at the TV playing Uncharted 2 on my PS3. "Oh. Uhm. I think I have other plans today... Think I'll be going to....Bonjour (?), you know, the one beside Sinangag Express..." he replied. There was a slight moment of silence, I bet you know why. I replied with an Okay and took off with my bike. After an exhausting, sweaty trip from Parkview Homes, Sun Valley to Matthew St., Multinational Village, I finally arrived in front of Jed's house and he rightfully invited me into his house. I didn't go there just to see him. I asked him if he could accompany me to go to someone's house. Thankfully he did. On the way, I was fearing Jed might get involved in some car accident as he was biking with no hands, while playing my PSP, and with very loud headphones over his ears. This was when we were on a road full of vehicles. (Yes, I agree, this guy's crazy...) We arrived at our destination, in Sherwood Heights, in one piece. Immediately I texted her that we were already there. She replied saying the tires on her bike were flat, so she had to go on foot. Moments later, she showed up wearing her Siglakas t-shirt. She borrowed Jaime's bike and went to our next destination, Teheran, at the open lot beside Mark's house. There I planned on climbing the tree that stands there with her. At first, she was hesitant. I had to stop her first attempt because she was climbing with her knees, not her feet. I didn't want to see wounds on her legs, you see. lol. I told her to try climbing with her feet. The next attempts were close, but still unsuccessful. But she never gave up and I gave my share of encouraging words and eventually she got to the top. I went up the tree too with minimal trouble. We talked there for a while, meanwhile Jaime and Mark were talking about Persona 4 and singing along to the music on my PSP. Speaking of Mark, there was this moment a while ago, where he said things like "Di kayo tatagal" and "K*****, Raffy's gonna break your heart din some day." This pissed me off so much that I decided to get out of that place. What he said will never come true. We walked the whole trip going to her home, 'cause Jaime had to go home and dress up for it was his sister's graduation today. As we walked by the road, I saw a man in one jeep, he gave us this smile. I asked her if she knew this guy. She told me it might've been her bigger bro's friend. She's dead if this is true, 'cause she never asked permission to go out of the house. (She was the only one home) Fingers crossed that the guy wasn't one of her kuya's friends. Or her mom doesn't read this post. LOL.

MARCH 22, 2010 - Bass, bass, bass!
Today I got a hold of Steven's brand new bass guitar. A cherry red Fernando Stratocaster, I think. It cost him P19,000. (This was pretty amazing of him 'cause he produced that amount within only 3 days. That just shows you how rich Steven is. Haha.) It was packaged with a guitar strap, a tuner, and an 15 watt amplifier. Playing it was a treat as it was my first ever time to play the bass. The first thing I noticed was the weight of this instrument, then its size. It's definitely larger than an ordinary guitar. Eager to learn my first bass song, I searched the bass tab for 21 Guns by Green Day. (Whew, saying bass is tiring…) Lucky for me, the song was undeniably easy to play. I just applied my knowledge of reading tabs and put my hand-eye coordination to the test. A few minutes in and I found myself nodding my head to the beat of the bass. Something didn't sound right, though, literally. The guitar was out of tune. We put out the included tuner and attempted to tune the bass guitar. The first string was okay. The second one needed a little tightening. Then the A string. The bloody A string. It took us minutes if not hours to TRY to tune it, but frustratingly we couldn't so we gave up. The last and thickest string was also a bit of a struggle. Eventually, we were able to make it sound correctly. Both of us managed to learn some songs (I Can Wait Forever, and Mr. Brightside to name a few) but there was this feeling of incompleteness. That one string that wasn't correctly tuned made the song sound bad. I just told Steven to let some professional tune it one day. At around 4PM we had unplanned visitors crash Steven's place. Namely Kim Roxas, and Vernice Domingo. They spent most of the time in the other room where there was air-conditioning. They took pictures of Steven's 'uncensored' baby pictures. LOL. (As seen in this link here Steven exposed! ) The two also managed to acquire new shirts from Steven's cabinet. Afterwards, the two went home. I did as well, after half an hour of playing the bass.
BEHOLD Steven Villegas!
BEHOLD Steven Villegas!

March 20, 2010 - FAREWELL :(
Today was the last day of school, or as we call it in SHS, Farewell Party. In the first hours of the day, we stayed at the school gym to watch as the schools Spirit Queen was crowned. It was Ira Dacumos who took the honor of wearing it. Also, the seniors brought home the 2010 Spirit Cup. (Congratulations to them. :] ). We, the Juniors, took 2nd place both in the Queen and Cup contests (Speaking of, I thought Ruby, the Junior's Spirit princess, looked very cute on stage. Haha. Take a look at the picture below).. Afterwards, we went upstairs to our classroom. The music from Cedric's iPod boomed throughout the room and started the party. In the span of the event, we played games, ate, took pictures, danced, received awards, and had the time of our lives. Before the program ended, Ms.Muñoz requested us to sit on our chairs for the very last time. And then she said an emotional speech that touched us all. I don't know if the others were the same, but I felt like crying. Sigh. I am gonna miss all you guys! Not just 3C people, but also all my other schoolmates. Thank you for making my school year 2009-2010 my best school year ever. Even the teachers, I salute you all. Till next school year. :D

Procrastination = Pain in the Ass
Dear Procrastination,
How are you? I bet your fine. Me? Oh, you know, same old same old, still a victim of your unfair tactics. I was suppose to study for the last day of the exams 10 hours ago. And then you showed up with your irrestistible aura. You persuaded me to turn on the PC and check my Facebook account. I believed you, so I logged in my Facebook account. When the checking was done, you told me to check You Tube for IGN's Daily Fix to get myself updated on all stuff gaming. I foolishly followed you again. Then I realized how you were fooling me and did the right thing and shut off the PC. To my surprise, I have already wasted 2 hours of my precious studying time. I got so mad at you that I was not in the mood for studying at the moment. I sat on the bed, then you gently pushed me backward, till I lay flat on my back. Next thing I know, I woke up in the evening. And then you showed me my shiny blue guitar.. I was not yet fully conscious at the time so I picked it up and played every song i knew how to play. Again, I wasted another 2 hours. Suddenly, I felt this urge to listen to music, maybe coz you secretly whispered it to my ear. I turned on my PSP, listened to my fave tracks, and played some games in the process. Damn. Wasted another hour. By this time, it was already 10pm, I think. My dad has just stopped using the PC. You tempted me to use it, yet again. This time you told me to create a blog. Which I did. And now, and hour and a half later, I realize that writing this post took me, uh, 30 minutes. I felt like such a big dumbass.
Damn, thanks for ruining my grade for finals, man...
Raffy >:(
